India's Anand Pawar moved into second round of the men's singles event even as his compatriot Aditya Prakash bowed out in the opening clash of the USD 50,000 Scottish Open Grand Prix badminton tournament, here today.

Pawar, seeded 11th, took just 43 minutes to get the better of local lad Kieran Merrilees 21-18 21-18 to register his second win over his opponent in as many matches.

But it was curtains for Prakash as he lost 4-21 20-22 against Sam Parsons of England in 28 minutes.
