PayPal launches 3rd edition of Girls in Tech

PayPal, global leader in online payments, has launched the third edition of Girls in Tech, aimed at providing the basics of programming.

Girls between 8 and 14 years old would learn coding from industry experts and senior leaders from the company between May 15 and May 31, PayPal said in a statement.

The girls would learn the basic of programming at the PayPal centres in Chennai and Bengaluru.

"We introduce the participants to coding in fun, artistic ways to help them understand that technology is full of suprises.", PayPal, GM Technology and Head of Engineering, Guru Bhat said.

"After all, it is not mere coding or engineering that we need in the industry at the moment - we need technology craftsmen with passion to strengthen the technology community in India", he said.
 

The Girls in Tech will be held at PayPal campus in Chennai between May 15 and 31, 2017 and on May 22 and May 26 in Bengaluru, the statement added.
