Paytm to let users add cash using United Payments Interface

Digital payments company Paytm has added support for payments using the Unified Payments Interface ahead of the introduction of its payments bank, which will further ease transfers into the wallet.

Once a customer enters his/her UPI ID on the payment page, a collect-money request would be sent to UPI-enabled apps on his/her smartphone.

After the customers accept the payment request and enter their 4 or 6 digit PIN for UPI transactions, the transaction is complete, Paytm said in a statement.

MEP Infrastructure Developers today said it has received Letter of Acceptance from National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for the second consecutive time for collection of toll for a project in Uttar Pradesh for Rs 60.03 crore.

Under the contract, MEP will collect toll at the Brijghat fee plaza on the Hapur-Garhmuketeshwar section of National Highway No. 24 for one year and the contractual amount is Rs 60.03 crore, the company said in a statement issued here.
Pawan Maini appointed CEO of SEMAC

* Engineering design consultancy firm SEMAC today announced the appointment of Pawan Maini as the company's CEO.

"There is a significant breadth and depth in the engineering consultancy sector and the opportunity to focus on this in my new role is very exciting," said Maini.

His appointment is a strategic step ahead of SEMAC's focus to strengthen its services the building sector, particularly the industrial sector and to further diversify into infrastructure, the company said in a statement.

Whirlpool launches energy efficient air conditioners * Home appliances maker Whirlpool of India has strengthened its portfolio by adding a new range of energy efficient air conditioners.

The new line-up of ACs includes Whirlpool 3D cool inverter range and fantasia inverter, which are at par with the 2018 Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) norms, the company said in a statement.

Whirlpool has also launched its 5 star range AC, it said adding that its 3D cool range has been designed keeping in mind the extreme humid conditions in India and the capability to perform during temperature of 52-55 degrees C.

Jaquar Group ties up with APJ Abdul Kalam Skill Dev Institute * Bath fittings manufacturer Jaquar Group today announced partnership with the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Skill Development Institute in Vijayawada to run plumber training programmes.

As part of the programme, Jaquar Group will train batches of 100 plumbers over a period of three months.

Jaquar Group Promoter and Director Rajesh Mehra said: "Skill development is an important initiative driven by the Government and we believe that our current initiative of training plumbers will support their overall vision and provide employment opportunities."

* Engineering design consultancy firm SEMAC today announced to appoint Pawan Maini as the CEO of the company.

Maini, who has over 25 years of experience in the infrastructure sector, would "lead SEMAC's multiple entities across businesses in planning, design, project management, design build and construction spanning across India and International geographies".
