BJP MLA from Bhoa (reserve) constituency today launched a dharna demanding complete ban on plying of heavy vehicles carrying mining goods claiming that it is damaging the Kirhi-Malikpur road here.
Addressing a gathering at the site of the demonstration, the MLA, Seema Devi, said unless illegal mining is completely banned and plying of heavy vehicles is not stopped, she will continue her protest against the Akalis.
Several BJP supporters joined the dharna and tried to block the vehicular traffic from both sides of Punjab and Jammu National Highway, she said.
