Keeping the 2014 Lok Sabha polls in view, the Punjab unit of Congress is gearing up to start a tour of the state's assembly constituencies from July 22 to mobilise party cadres for the elections.

Party's state unit president Partap Singh Bajwa said that "he would start tour of all the 117 assembly constituencies from July 22 to mobilise party cadre for the coming Lok Sabha polls."

"The party workers are enthusiastic to take head on with the ruling SAD-BJP alliance in Lok Sabha polls," he said while addressing at a function organised to felicitate newly elected Congress-supported sarpanchs and panchs here.

Bajwa claimed that UPA would form its government for the third time with thumping majority, adding that the party would not allow "communal" forces to take over the reigns of the country.

Emphasising that unemployment and poor law and order were two major issues which are seriously affecting the people of the state, Bajwa said that Congress party had decided to launch concerted campaign to register names of unemployed youth in the employment exchanges.
