In view of the Assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab government has declared special leave on November 9 for the hill state's voters who are employed in its offices, corporations, boards or institutions.
Apart from this, a paid holiday has been declared under section 135 B (1) RP Act 1651 for the registered voters of Himachal Pradesh who are working in the industrial establishments in Punjab to enable them to exercise their franchise, an official spokesman said.
He said that any Himachal Pradesh voter, who has been employed in the office, corporation, board or educational institution of Punjab, will be given special leave on showing his voter card to the competent authority and this leave will not be deducted from the employee's leave account.
