Punjab government would bring in an ordinance to include the biography of freedom fighter Madan Lal Dhingra in school syllabus, state minister for Industries and Commerce Anil Joshi said here today.
Paying tributes to Dhingra on his martyrdom day, Joshi in a function said, "The state government will take initiative to bring back hand-written documents of Dhingra lying in the British Library, London."
An ordinance would be brought to include the freedom fighter's biography in school text, he said.
Lauding the efforts of Dhingra, the minister said, "He took revenge by assassinating British official Curzon Wyllie in England for the inhuman torture of Indians and proudly laid his life for the freedom of the country."
The Minister also announced that Saheed Madan Lal Dhingra Memorial would be set up in Amritsar. He also honoured other freedom fighters on the occasion.
Earlier Joshi inaugurated a blood donation camp organised at Sarup Rani College and handed over a cheque of Rs 5 lakh to the college authority.
