Punjab Government has sought a comprehensive report from all the state departments on the implementation of 'jobs on compassionate ground' policy within a fortnight, so that bottlenecks in it can be removed.
Departments have been directed to furnish details of jobs provided by them to the next of the kin of the deceased employees on compassionate grounds in the last 5 years, an official spokesman said here today.
This appraisal report has been sought from the department to review the present policy of 'jobs on compassionate ground' so that the process of providing jobs to the next kin of the deceased employees could be expedited, he said.

The report has been sought on a prescribed Performa within 15 days, that would include the total number of applications received, their present status, reasons for the delay in processing the case.
Similarly departments have also been directed to mention in the report those cases which have been cleared by the respective department/ Redeployment Cell for the jobs on compassionate grounds, he said.
These reports would enable the state government in reviewing the present policy and removing the bottlenecks by amending it, the spokesman added.
