Congress leaders across Punjab and Haryana today paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on the occasion of his 69th birth anniversary.
Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who is in Panipat today to roll out the Centre's ambitious Food Security scheme from the town, paid rich tributes to the departed leader even as functions are being organised across the state to mark the occasion.
The Chief Minister also attended a function at Delhi earlier to mark the birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi.

Rajiv Gandhi was also fondly remembered across Punjab, with Congress leaders paying tributes to the leader who heralded the information and communication technology revolution in the country.
Devotional music was played at various functions.
While State Congress President Pratap Singh Bajwa paid tributes to Rajiv at a function in Delhi, Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Assembly, Sunil Jakhar and other state leaders remembered him at a function held in Sangrur.
The members of National Students Union of India (NSUI), the student wing of Congress, also took part in the functions across the two states to pay their tributes to Rajiv.
