Pb police to review security to various 'protectees'

The Punjab police is set to review the security being provided to various public functionaries and individuals in the state.

Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Suresh Arora has constituted a state-level committee to review police security being provided to various 'protectees', an official spokesperson said .

The committee will be headed by DGP (Law and Order) Hardeep Singh Dhillon. ADGP Intelligence Dinkar Gupta and ADGP Security B K Bawa will be member secretaries and IGP (Special Protection Unit) Pramod Ban will be a member, he said.

This committee will carry out a comprehensive review of the security being provided to constitutional/public functionaries, officers as well as individuals, the spokesperson said.
 

The state-level review committee (SLRC) would submit its report to the DGP with specific recommendations, regarding each individual, by March 24, he said.
