Punjab Education Minister Aruna Chaudhary has ordered a probe into the alleged irregularities in teachers' transfers, an accusation levelled by the Democratic Teachers Front.
The organisation had alleged that there were a number of irregularities in the transfers of 600 teachers.
The education secretary, Krishan Kumar, will conduct the probe and submit a report within 15 days, she said.

The minister has directed the secretary to take stern action against those found guilty.
If the allegations are found false, action will also be taken against those who had made the accusation, she said.
Various teachers belonging to the Front had levelled the allegation on July 31.
