The Punjab government has achieved 96 per cent computerisation of ration cards and is all set to touch the 100 mark in next three months, an official spokesperson said today.

It would be the first state in the country that would achieve this distinction, he claimed.

The Punjab Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department has already started verification of computerised ration cards and is conducting door to door checking, the spokesperson said.

Any addition or deletion in the present ration cards can also be incorporated by providing the requisite documents to the visiting inspectors, he added.
