Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today said 300th martyrdom day functions of Sikh General Baba Banda Singh Bahadur would be observed on a grand scale with PM Narendra Modi consenting to attend the function to be held in New Delhi.
Commencing May 20, the functions at Gurdas Nangal in Gurdaspur would continue for a month.
Nagar kirtans dedicated to Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, exhibition of ancient weaponry, poetic recitals and seminars would be held at various places besides a marathon at New Delhi during the course of these functions.

A grand function will be organised by the Punjab government on May 20, Badal said.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given his consent to attend the function to be held in New Delhi in the last week of June.
The function would be held in front of the Qutab Minar, where Baba Banda Singh Bahadur was martyred, on 24th June, he said in a release.
