Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today said that in the coming months the state will witness "inclusive development on a massive scale".
Badal said this while speaking at village Sakkanwali in Muktsar after inspecting a project of converting a village pond into a scenic lake and recreation facility for the residents.
Funds will be released constituency wise to carry out developmental works like building roads, clean drinking water, lights, sewerage in the rural and urban areas, an official said here.
He also said, the state government would soon advertise 1 lakh job vacancy in keeping with its policy of providing employment to the states' youths, the release stated.
Terming the 'Progressive Punjab Investor Summit-2015' held in Mohali recently as a grand success, the Deputy CM said, investors from across the globe had shown tremendous interest in making investments in the state which would strengthen infrastructure and ensure job avenues for 2.5 lakh youths.
The state government has announced a slew of tax exemptions for the food processing sector and investments made in this area would benefit the farmers too, he added.
Inviting farmers to generate power from non-conventional sources of energy, Badal said the government is encouraging them to generate power from residue of crops besides devoting special attention to commissioning new biomass plants.
He also informed that the state government is providing subsidy on bailers to make bundles of paddy stubble.
Punjab Government is successfully taking forward the project of ending water logging problem in the south western districts of the state and focusing on broadening the road network from four to six lanes, the Deputy CM said.
Coming down heavily on Congress and AAP, Badal claimed that both parties have ignored the problems being faced by the farmers and labourers.
People have now become well aware of the "true face of these anti-farmer and anti-poor parties," he added.
