Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh will flag off a padyatra of the party's state youth wing on January 4 to press for naming Chandigarh International Airport after freedom fighter Bhagat Singh.
The padyatra from Khatkar Kallan to Mohali International Airport, to be flagged off by state Congress chief Amarinder Singh, is being held to press for naming Chandigarh/Mohali airport after Shaheed Bhagat Singh, a party spokesperson said here today.
The BJP government at the Centre at the behest of Haryana government has decided to name the airport after RSS leader and former Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Mangal Sein, he said.

The padyatra, to be led by Punjab Youth Congress chief Amarjit Laly, will mark the beginning of the protest and would continue till the airport is named after Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, he added.
