PC Jewellers Q4 Net plunges to Rs 79 crore

PC Jewellers today reported over 34 per cent fall in standalone net profit at Rs 79.05 crore in the fourth quarter of the 2015-16 fiscal on poor sales.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 120.13 crore in the same quarter of 2014-15, it said in a BSE filing.

Net sales dropped to Rs 1,898.34 crore in the January-March quarter of the 2015-16 fiscal from Rs 2,020.19 crore in the year-ago period.

The revenue from domestic sales fell to Rs 1,337.68 crore from Rs 1,464.65 crore, while the income from exports was slightly better at Rs 560.66 crore as against Rs 555.54 crore in the said period, the filing said.
 

The company's expenses, however, remained slightly lower at Rs 1,744.54 crore as against Rs 1,820.95 crore in the said period.

The company is engaged in the business of manufacture and sale of gold jewellery, diamond studded jewellery and silver articles.
