The Pakistan squad were not only defeated by India during the event in Australia but also lost a playoff match to West Indies and will now play Bangladesh for the seventh position.

PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf told reporters yesterday that while it was disappointing that the team couldn't reach the final but their performance was not that bad.

"But yes definitely the team went with great expectations but the results didn't match those expectations. When the team returns we will seek reports from the management and try to find out what went wrong," he said.

India have now reached the final of the World Cup where they will play Australia.

Pakistan, two-time winners of the event, lost a close match to India after being restricted to 137 runs.

But sources in the board said the decision to bat first on a pitch freshened up by rains against India had raised questions which needed to be answered by manager Haroon Rasheed and coach Sabih Azhar.

One source said the board had also taken notice of the fact that the coach got into the habit of posting pictures and updates of the team on his facebook account nearly everyday.

"The question is that if a coach is busy focusing on uploading the activities of the team on a social networking site, does it affect his commitment to the team preparations," the source said.
