The three-member PCI team, presently on a visit to Imphal, today met high ranking government officials including Chief Secretary O Nabakishore and Manipur Police DGP LM Khaute.
The visiting team and government officials were apprised about the dilemma which media persons are facing in conflict situations, Advisor of All Manipur Working Journalists Union (AMWJU) said.
Later, Ravindra Kumar, Convenor of the PCI team, told a press conference at Manipur Press Club the media of the state should be allowed to function in best possible ways and to create a platform where the stakeholders can come together whenever an issue crops up.

The NIA team also confirmed that they had served notices to some of the Imphal-based newspapers regarding the story of the ambush by CorCom, a conglomerate of proscribed outfits, in May last in which six Assam Rifles personnel were killed.
The Sub-Committee of the PCI team arrived in Imphal yesterday to recommend framing of guidelines for media and security forces in North East India.
Later, when asked on when the guidelines would be set up, Kumar said the issue will be presented in the next sitting of the PCI held once in every three months, a representative of AMWJU said.
The PCI Sub-Committee team included Ravindra Kumar, Kosuri Amarnath and CK Nayak.
