PDD realises Rs 1,726 cr from Jammu, Rs 1,170 cr from Kashmir

The Jammu and Kashmir government today said the state's Power Development Department (PDD) has posted its highest revenue of Rs 1,726 crore from Jammu region, which consumed 10,232 MUs of energy from 2011-13.

As per the written reply in Legislative Assembly by the Power Ministry in reply to the question of JKNPP member Harshdev Singh, as many as Rs 1,726.61 crore revenue was realised by PDD from Jammu region, which consumed 10232 MUs of energy from 2011-13.

As per official figures, Rs 1,170.7 crore have been realised during the same period from Kashmir region with regard to consumption of electricity.
 

It further said that Kashmir has consumed 12,991.03 MUs of electricity from 2011-12 to 2012-13, while Jammu consumed 10,232.04 MUs during the same period.

The liability of the government departments is discharged by the state government as all power purchase remittances to supplying agencies are made by the state government.
