While raising slogans against the government and Power Development Department (PDD), PDP activists marched towards Dogra Chowk, where they unsuccessfully tried to stop traffic, against severe power crisis in the city.

The PDD & Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department had allegedly crafted wrong policies and were responsible for the power and water crises in the city, Youth leader Vikram Singh said.

The activists also threatened to march to the PHE Minister's house if clean water was not provided to houses in the old city area.

Meanwhile, over 150 BJP workers, led by BJP MLA Sham Choudhary, held demonstrations in R S Pura locality against power crisis in the border belts.

Also, about 200 people of Hiranagar tehsil in Kathua district threatened to block the National Highway in protest against several villages being deprived of water supply for the past one week.
