Independent MLA from Langate seat Sheikh Abdul Rashid today termed the PDP-BJP government in Jammu and Kashmir as a "cruel joke", saying there was nothing poles apart in the two parties as claimed by new state Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
"Mufti's comments that BJP and PDP forming alliance is like meeting of north pole and south pole is mere cruel joke as Mufti or anybody can't change the universal fact that like poles repel and unlike poles attract," Rashid said in a statement.
"Let Mufti understand that north pole and south pole are two extremes and God forbids if they meet each other, it will be the end of universe and is never possible," he added.

Rashid termed the Common Minimum Programme of PDP-BJP as a "farce" and "complete surrender" by the regional party.
"Be it on all important issue of granting citizenship rights to West Pakistan Refugees or the revocation of AFSPA, Sayeed and PDP have hands down surrendered to saffron brigade," he said.
The independent MLA said that Pakistan, militants or the Hurriyat Conference do not need anybody including Mufti Sayeed's help for resumption of dialogue with India.
"In fact, these dialogues have yielded nothing except diluting the basics of Kashmir dispute and strengthening New Delhi's viewpoint," he said.
