Congress today accused the PDP-BJP government of "torturing and victimizing" people who did not vote for the coalition partners in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections.

"The PDP-BJP coalition government is indulging in political victimization... People in upper reaches and on the outskirts of South Kashmir and other districts are being neglected in every respect purely on political grounds," state Congress committee chief G A Mir said while addressing a public meeting at Anshan remote belt of Kishtwar district.

"People in several areas like Matigawran, Larnoo Nowbug, Kapran, Kund and other districts are being victimized and tortured on political grounds as they did not vote for PDP in the Assembly elections," he said.

"The coalition partners are creating an atmosphere of distress among people, the Congress leader alleged.
