PDP today criticised the alleged forcing of a Muslim to break his Ramzan fast by some Shiv Sena MPs at Maharashtra Sadan in Delhi, saying it was not only violation of religious freedom but an issue of wider concern.
"Even if it were not a Muslim observing Ramazan fast, nobody has the right to force-feed someone against his wishes," Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti, who is Lok Sabha MP from south Kashmir, said in a statement.
Mehbooba said while it was disturbing that the religious freedom of an individual had been breached by none other than the representatives of the people, who are supposed to be the guardians of everybody's rights, the issues involved in this episode are of wider concern.
