Opposition PDP candidate from Amirakadal constituency Altaf Bukhari today filed a complaint with Election Commission alleging that some bogus voters have figured in the electoral rolls of his constituency, which goes to polls on Sunday.
Bukhari has moved a complaint before the Chief Election Commissioner supported by a list of bogus voters who have surfaced in the electoral rolls of Amirakadal constituency, a party spokesman said.
He said the complaint highlights that same voters, who are already on the electoral rolls of Lolab assembly segment in Kupwara district, have been enrolled clandestinely in electoral rolls of Amirakadal constituency as well.

The complaint also enumerates that preparation of electoral rolls for Amirakadal constituency has not only been sluggish but has also displayed apathy in the implementation of Election Commission's directives, the spokesman said.
"Though we have submitted a list of bogus voters after making a cursory analysis of electoral rolls of Amirakadal constituency, it is our firm belief that the number of these bogus voters can be on a much higher scale if the electoral rolls of Amirakadal constituency are reviewed thoroughly," Bukhari said in the complaint.
Bukhari said the NC has resorted to its old tricks of tactical rigging as it has anticipated its complete decimation in the current assembly elections.
"In 2008, NC resorted to same electoral engineering in connivance with certain agencies that gave it number to lead the present dispensation," he alleged.
The PDP leader said in the interest of free and fair electoral process, the Election Commission must go for an immediate review of electoral rolls of Amirakadal constituency and order deletion of the bogus voters forthwith.
