Taking serious note of his absence during hearings since June 6, 2010, the warrant was issued by Special Judge Anti-Corruption, Jammu, Pawan Dev Kotwal.

J&K Governor Lt Gen S K Sinha had earlier given a nod to prosecute Ansari, who was the Housing and Urban Development Minister in Farooq Abdullah's government in 1997, after he was named by a one-man Commission headed by then Vigilance Commissioner R V Raju for allegedly being involved in the scam.

The case relates to the setting up of the Rs 500 crore satellite township at Sidhra in the outskirts of Jammu city in 1997.
