Congress tonight said PDP legislators want to turn the clock back by demanding parliament attack convict Afzal Guru's mortal remains and wondered whether this is the new Kashmir policy of Modi government.

"Within an hour of oath taking, J&K CM credits separatists, militants and Pakistan for J&K polls. Now PDP legislators want to turn the clock back by raising questions and demanding Afzal Guru's remains," Party spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said tonight.

"PM Modi maintains complete silence while peaceful atmosphere of J&K is vitiated and public mandate mocked at," he told PTI adding "is this the new Kashmir policy of Modi govt?"

Congress reaction came after eight ruling PDP MLAs in Jammu and Kashmir demanded NDA government return the mortal remains of Afzal Guru, a day after assuming power in alliance with BJP.
