PDP President Mehbooba Mufti, who led a rally from the party headquarters in Srinagar, alleged the Omar Abdullah led government had pushed the state into its "worst crises as a result of its inefficiency".
"While the rulers were living a luxurious life, the common man has to wage a struggle for every day survival as basic amenities of life have been denied to the people," she said addressing a gathering at Regal chowk in the heart of the city where they were stopped by police.
Criticising the government for "acute shortage" of electricity, cooking gas, rations and kerosene oil, Mehbooba said "the state government has no achievements to show as all its tall claims and promises made to people have proved phoney."
Meanwhile, addressing public meetings at Reasi district of J&K, PDP Patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said accused the Omar Abdullah of reversing the process of peace and development in Jammu and Kashmir.
"The present regime headed by National Conference has miserably failed to carry forward the process of peace and development which was initiated by the previous PDP led regime in the state," he said.
Reiterating PDP's resolve to restore lasting peace in the region without compromising with the dignity and honour of the people of the State, he said that policies and programmes of the party were guided by the wishes and aspirations of the people of this region.
