"PDP would vociferously take up the issue of delay in getting due share of the water from the Ranjit Sagar Dam. It would also take up the issue of delay in completion of Shahpur Kandi project with Government of India and concerned quarters," PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today said while addressing a meeting at Mahanpur belt of Kathua district.
Mufti said farmers of Kathua region were suffering losses due to delay in implementation of bilateral agreement with Punjab government over Ranjit Sagar Dam project.
He emphasised the need to take up with issue with concerned quarters. "PDP will effectively take up this issue."
The PDP patron said affected families, whose land was submerged in the dam project, must be properly rehabilitated and adequate compensation should be given to them.
Responding to the demand of local people, the former chief minister said Mahanpur would be given tehsil status.
"During our tenure PDP had proved how to deliver good governance to the people," he said.
