"Their (PDP's) aim is to capture power by hook or crook and this design is to be thwarted by people of the state," additional general secretary Mustafa Kamal said.
Kamal was addressing a felicitation function of his re-appointment as AGS in the party.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was appointed as working president of NC, while his uncle and MLA Kamal was re-appointed as AGS earlier this month.
Kamal was sacked from the post by NC president and his brother Farooq Abdullah for his controversial remarks on AFSPA last year.
Referring to Opposition PDP, Kamal claimed "the party (PDP) was created in New Delhi in 1999 and funded by communal elements".
"They have no role in the struggle which started in 1931," he said adding, NC was the only party which played crucial role in emancipation of the people of the state.
Kamal said he will continue to uphold the rich tradition of Gujjars and Bakerwals, while promoting their progress. PTI AB DK
