Peas prices move up on demand from retailers

Prices of peas rose up to Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today following pick-up in demand from retailers against tight supplies from producing regions.

Marketmen said besides increased demand from retailers, restricted arrivals from producing regions led to the rise in prices of peas.

In the national capital, peas white and green were up by Rs 100 and Rs 50 to Rs 3,000-3,050 and Rs 2,950-3,100 per quintal, respectively.

Following are today's pulses rates (in Rs per quintal):

Urad 6,100-6,800, Urad Chilka (local) 7,500-7,700, best 7,700-8,300, Dhoya 8,000-8,400, Moong 6,050-7,050, Dal Moong Chilka local 7,000-7,500, Moong Dhoya local 7,000-7,300 and best quality 7,800-7,900.
 

Masoor small 5,200-5,450, bold 5,200-5,550, Dal Masoor local 6,100-6,200, best quality 6,200-6,300, Malka local 6,000-6,300, best 6,200-6,300, Moth 5,000-5,300, Arhar 4,500-4,700, Dal Arhar Dara 5,800-6,100.

Gram 2,750-3,650, Gram Dal (local) 3,550-3,750, best quality 3,650-3,750, Besan (35 kg) Shakti bhog 1,440, Rajdhani 1,440, Rajmah Chitra 4,800-8,500,Kabli Gram small 3,500-5,900, dabra 2,700-2,800, imported 4,700-5,100, Lobia 4,600-5,800, Peas white 3,000-3,050 and green 2,950-3,100.
