Peas weaken on subdued demand

Peas prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale pulses market today on muted demand from retailers.

Other pulses, however, after moving in a narrow range on little doing, settled around previous levels.

Traders said easing demand from retailers against adequate stocks position led to decline in peas prices.

In the national capital, peas white and green traded lower by Rs 100 each to 3,300-3,325 and Rs 3,500-3,600 per quintal respectively.

Following are today's pulses rates (in Rs per quintal):

Urad Rs 9,200-10,300, Urad Chilka (local) Rs 9,400-9,500, Urad best Rs 9,500-10,000, Dhoya Rs 9,900-10,200, Moong Rs 4,900-5,400, Dal Moong Chilka local Rs 5,400-5,800, Moong Dhoya local Rs 5,800-6,300 and best quality Rs 6,300-6,500.
 

Masoor small Rs 5,800-6,000, bold Rs 5,850-6,050, Dal Masoor local Rs 6,250-6,750, best quality Rs 6,350-6,850, Malka local Rs 6,900-7,200, best Rs 7,000-7,300, Moth Rs 4,600-5,000, Arhar Rs 6,400, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 9,200-10,900.

Gram Rs 7,700-7,900, Gram dal (local) Rs 8,100-8,300, best quality Rs 8,400-8,500, Besan (35 kg), Shakti Bhog Rs 3,530, Rajdhani Rs 3,530, Rajma Chitra Rs 5,300-6,250, Kabuli Gram small Rs 9,100-9,500, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 5,400-5,600, Peas white Rs 3,300-3,325 and green Rs 3,500-3,600.
