Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (HVPNL) has imposed a penalty of Rs 85 lakh on dyeing and garment printing units in Faridabad district for alleged power theft.
An FIR would also be lodged with the police against the erring customers, a Nigam spokesperson said here today.
On the directions of the DGP-cum-Director of the Vigilance wing of HVPNL a drive has been initiated to detect theft of electricity, he said.
The Enforcement Wing along with technical staff and police personnel conducted a special checking at the in dyeing and garment printing units at Dheeraj Nagar in the district and a penalty was imposed on those found indulging in theft of power, the HVPNL spokesperson said.
