People help railways to clean Mathura junction station

Braving cold breeze, a group of youth, aged persons and ladies today participated in the cleanliness drive at the Mathura junction here, giving a face-lift to railway station area.

The drive was launched jointly by Railway Magistrate Sunil Singh, Railway Area Manager N P Singh and Harvinder Kumar, Coordinator of Nirankari mission who cleaned platform number one of Mathura junction railway station.

After the drive, the platforms and the drinking water area ware a different look as not only litter was cleared but stains of Gutka were also removed.

"The group had cleaned the station. The efforts of activists of Nirankari mission lead by Baba Hardeo Singh, today was praiseworthy as they braved cold breeze to give a face-lift to station area," said Area Manager, North Central Railway, N P Singh.
 

Impressed by the drive, a lady travelling by Sachakhand Express who had relished groundnut and thrown its skin on the ground, not only collected them but also threw them in a dustbin.

"The passengers should take a lesson from these activists and cooperate in maintaining the station clean," said Railway Magistrate Sunil Singh.
