BJP President Amit Shah today said it is the need of the hour for people to come forward and contribute in development of their regions.

"It is the need of the hour for people to come forward for contributing in regional development," he said.

Shah was addressing a function after dedicating to the public an ultra-modern hospital built by Shri Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust (SSSST) here.

In this era of materialism, service to humanity gives a lot of satisfaction. Setting up of this 2053-bed hospital is an example of dedication of those who have taken a vow to serve humanity, he said.

Meanwhile, he praised industrialist Vishad Mafatlal, Chairman of the Trust, and his predecessor late businessman Arvind Mafatlal for serving people through the charitable organisation and building the hospital.

Shah said after a "certain age (preferably 60)" people should consider taking 'sanyas' (retirement) from material life and dedicating themselves in service of humanity.

Earlier, on his arrival here Shah was accorded warm welcome by BJP Vice-President and In-charge of Madhya Pradesh Vinay Sahastrabuddhe, State party President Nand Kumar Singh Chouhan and Madhya Pradesh Public Relations Minister Rajendra Shukla.
