Pepper and ginger surge on sustained demand

Black pepper, ginger bleached and unbleached prices surged at the spices market here today on good demand from stockists and retailers.

Elsewhere, copra rajapur Mumbai and copra edible Mumbai ruled stable in the absence of any worthwhile buying activity.

Black pepper climbed by Rs 10/40 per kg to Rs 585/715 from Monday's closing level of Rs 575/675.

Ginger bleached and unbleached rose by Rs 20 per kg each to Rs 250 and Rs 270 as compared to Rs 230 and Rs 250, respectively.

Copra office Alapuza and copra office Kozhikode markets remained closed today.
