Pepper prices recovered by 0.40 per cent to Rs 42,900 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh positions after pick-up in demand in the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, pepper for delivery in November rose by Rs 170, or 0.40 per cent, to Rs 42,900 per quintal with an open interest of 54 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by participants due to upsurge in demand in the physical market, mainly influenced pepper prices at futures trade.
