Railway Minister Piyush Goyal will review the performance of all the railway zones as regards sanitation, catering and punctuality over the next few weeks, senior railway officials said here today.
Goyal has conveyed to senior railway officials that these three aspects are the main concern of his ministry and that the zones should be ready with the details of their performance as regards these parameters for a review in the coming days.
According to sources, the first such review was conducted by Goyal yesterday, when the general managers of the North Western Railway, the West Central Railway, the Southern Railway and the South Central Railway gave presentations on sanitation, catering and punctuality.
The East Central Railway, the North Central Railway, the Northern Railway and the North Eastern Railway will be reviewed tomorrow.
"These reviews will be conducted face-to-face with the minister and the GMs have been asked to come with their teams and presentations on the three aspects," an official said.
