Rationalist leader and founder of Dravidar Kazhagam (DK), E V Ramasamy 'Periyar' was today remembered across the state on his 42nd death anniversary.
DK President K Veeramani, DMK President M Karunanidhi and his party colleagues including General Secretary K Anbazhagan and M K Stalin and a host of leaders paid tributes to Periyar.
Karunanidhi and others paid floral tributes to a statue and portrait of the late leader.
MDMK's Vaiko, VCK founder Thol.Thirumavalavan, PMK founder S Ramadoss and DMDK leader Vijayakant also paid floral tributes to Periyar.
EV Ramasamy Periyar, founder of the self-respect movement, fought for social equality and is a respected leader across party lines.
