Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar today said the permanent International Film Festival of India (IFFI) secretariat would be set up in the state, for which infrastructure would be ready by next year.
"We have land belonging to the state tourism department at Dona Paula (near Panaji). Next year, infrastructure for the IFFI secretariat would be set up there," Parrikar told reporters, a day after meeting Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar in Delhi.
Parrikar said that the union government had given serious thought about creating infrastructure to host IFFI in Goa.

The Goa government has also decided to frame a movie theatre upgradation policy so that IFFI events could be held across the state after giving them a facelift, he said.
