Persons with Disability Act: Hry Minister directs officers to frame rules

Haryana Minister Krishan Kumar today directed the officers concerned to frame rules and regulations under the Persons with Disability Act and upload the same on the website of the department by August 15.

Presiding over a meeting with officers of the Social Justice Department, here today, the minister of state said Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) would make proper arrangements for issuance of disability certificate within a prescribed time period.

For this, the minister concerned would call the CMOs in District Grievances Redressal Committee meeting and issue necessary directions in this regard, an official release said.

Apart from this, he would send written communication to all Deputy Commissioners, the minister was quoted as saying in the release.

 

Kumar said the state government is committed for the welfare of physically challenged people and a written communication has been sent to the transport department for allowing those with 40 per cent disability to travel free of charge in Haryana Roadways buses.

He said six month advance pension would be given to persons with disabilities according to their demand for making necessary changes in their houses according to their needs.

The recovery would be made every month in the form of Rs 200 or Rs 300 from their pension, the minister said, adding "The finance department has been requested to facilitate this kind of financial assistance for persons with disabilities.
