A petition was today filed in the Madras High Court seeking a direction to police to register an FIR against former DMK MP J K Ritheesh for allegedly defaulting on repayment of Rs three crore to a man.
Athinarayanan Subramanian alias Shiva submitted that he had given Rs three crore to the former MP for business purposes.
He alleged that three cheques issued by Ritheesh towards repayment were dishonoured by the bank, following which he lodged a complaint with the city Police Commissioner on October 20, 2015.
However, he was directed to approach the Central Crime Branch, who only issued a Community Service Register (CSR) acknowledgment and did not proceed further on the matter, he said.
The petitioner sought a direction from the court to police to register an FIR on his complaint.
