Petrol pump employee injured before being robbed Rs. 12 lakh

Armed miscreants today shot at and injured a petrol pump employee before looting Rs 12 lakh from him near a village in Bihar's Sitamarhi district, a police officer said.

The incident took place on NH-77 near Wajitpur village as four armed miscreants looted a bag containing Rs 12 lakh from a petrol pump employee Sanjay Kumar after intercepting his bike on which he was going to a bank to deposit the cash, Dumra police station in-charge Chhotan Kumar said.

The miscreants, said to be four men, shot and injured the petrol pump employee who has been referred to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) for treatment, he said.
 

Raids were being carried out to nab the culprits, Kumar said.

The said petrol pump belonged to the RJD's ex-MP Sitaram Singh who also served as a Cabinet minister in the governments of Lalu Prasad and his wife Rabri Devi between 1995-2000.
