Petrol pump employees beaten up after argument

A group today allegedly beat up employees of a petrol pump, owned by the All Bengal Petroleum Dealers' Association, in Salkia area of Howrah district following altercation between a biker and the staff.

The association called an emergency meeting on Tuesday to decide the next course of action.

Police said a force from Salkia police station went to the spot and brought the situation under control.

Trouble broke out after a motorcyclist refused to pay the amount asked by the pump employees for refuelling.

Soon he returned with some other youths and a clash ensued during which the pump employees were beaten up.
 

It was later brought under control by the police.

Protesting the incident the Association President Tushar Sen, who owned the pump situated on Salkia School Road, said some rowdies beat up his employees refusing to pay the total amount after refuel.

Sen said an association meeting will be held in Kolkata on Tuesday to discuss future course of action.
