Petrol pump owner shot at, looted money

A petrol pump owner was shot at and looted over Rs 7 lakhs at Kukradih in the outskirts of the steel city in Sundernagar police station here today.

The victim Rajesh Saw, a resident of village Kero, was on the way to deposit the money in a bank when two motorcycle- borne miscreants stopped him near his house, officer-in-charge of Sundernagar police station, Krishnakant Ojha said.

The miscreants opened fire when Saw resisted their move and sustained bullet injury in both the legs, he said.

He was rushed to Tata Main Hospital.

The miscreants managed to escape with the booty of Rs 7.6 lakh, he said.
 

A massive hunt was launched to apprehend the culprits, Ojha said.
