A petrol pump selling adulterated fuel has been shut down at Barauli village here, officials said today.

District Supply Officer (DSO) KB Singh said a large quantity of engine oil and and solvent used to dilute petrol was seized from a cowshed adjoining the pump.

"The petrol pump, situated at Bulandshahr-Garhmukteshwar state highway, had been selling petro products for over ten years without any permission from govt agency," Singh said.

A case has been registered against Dhruv Kumar, owner of petrol pump, and one other person under the Essential Commodities Act, the DSO said, adding that both the accused are absconding.
