Two employees of a petrol pump were allegedly robbed of Rs 36.26 lakh by two unidentified bike-borne miscreants here today, police said.

Pratik Patel, the manager of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd's (IOCL) petrol station located at Shyamal crossroads, and another employee Jairam Desai were on their way to a SBI branch located at Jodhpur Road here when the incident took place, they said.

The two bike-borne men, in their thirties, stopped them and snatched the bag from Desai, police said.

However, Desai, who resisted their attempt, was hit on his head by them with a country-made gun, they added.

Anandnagar police have registered a complaint and commenced a probe into the case.

Police Inspector J B Rana said that the role of any employee working at the petrol station cannot be ruled out and have asked for call details and other relevant information of all employees working there.
