A majority of the petrol pump owners in Kerala joined the 24-hour strike call given by All Kerala Federation of Petroleum Traders to press for their demands including hike in commission, causing hardship to vehicle users.

Nearly 70 per cent of more than 1,500 petrol bunks remained closed since last night, Federation sources said here today.

The Federation's demand included rectifying anomalies in sanctioning new licences, provide security to petrol pumps and hike commission on petroleum products.
