Petrolight, Aratos tie up for pipeline security solutions

Russian firm Omega Company today said its unit Petrolight has signed a long term agreement with Aratos Technologies India to provide solutions for pipeline security in the oil and gas sector.

The pact comes ahead of Russian President Vladmir Putin's visit to India later this month.

"Petrolight, one of the constituents of Omega Company, entered into a long term agreement with Aratos Technologies India Private Limited of Delhi for providing cutting edge technology solution for pipeline security and leak detection in oil and gas sector," Omega said in a statement.

"India is very important market for us and we are committed to provide the market with cutting edge solutions for pipeline security," said Aleksey Turbin, Deputy General Director of Omega Company.
 

Referring to a recent explosion in one of the pipelines of Gas Authority of India Limited in Andhra Pradesh, Turbin said: "With deployment of Omega leak detection technology, such accidents will be history."

Aratos Technologies India's Director Siddhartha Ray said: "After all exerting every effort in promoting undoubtedly strong and multilateral Russian technology, we see our specific contribution to the preparation for the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to India, scheduled for the second half of December. The focus on the BRICs countries is the right strategic choice.
