PFC Q2 net rises 11% to Rs 1,873 cr

State-owned Power Finance Corporation (PFC) today posted 10.5 per cent increase in standalone net profit at Rs 1,873.42 crore for the quarter ended September.

The company had posted a standalone net profit of Rs 1,695.30 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal, PFC said in a filing to BSE.

However, the total income from operations during the quarter declined to Rs 6,928.39 crore, from Rs 7,022.05 crore in the year-ago period.

Total expenses during the quarter fell to Rs 4,335.98 crore, from Rs 4,561.75 crore in the year-ago period.

The company's primary business is to provide finance for the power sector.
