"The MD/MS entrance examination was today successfully conducted by PGI at ten centres here," a PGIMER spokesperson said.
As part of its stringent measures put in place to prevent any cheating, he said, several methods were used including frisking, scanning through metal/bug detectors, mobile jammers, photography, biometric finger print capturing, and surprise checks by the flying squad.
A total number of 5,837 candidates took the examination this morning, the result of which will be declared on Monday.
Last month, the CBI had busted the cheating racket in which sophisticated gadgets were used by the accused. The agency had made several arrests in the case, including the kingpin who hails from Andhra Pradesh.
